Use the Dictionary, Betsy

Use the Dictionary, Betsy by Andrea G71

 September Stamp Club Card

Emerging Colour Technique

Dimensions:

Whisper White:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 card base, scrap, 5 x 3-3/4

Wild Wasabi:  4 x 5-1/4

Pool Party:  3-7/8 x 5-1/8

Supplies:

Stamps:  Betsy's Blossoms, Petite Pairs, Dictionary Background Stamp

Paper:  Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Pool Party

Ink:  Basic Grey, Wild Wasabi, Pool Party, Black, VersaMark

Accessories:  Clear embossing powder, Pearls, Dimensionals, Oval Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Sponge, Sponge Dauber

 Directions:

Ink up the Dictionary background stamp with Basic Grey ink.  Stamp off on scrap paper before stamping on the Whisper White card stock.

Ink blossom stamp with VersaMark ink and heat emboss with Clear embossing powder.  (Another option that looks nice is embissing the flower in white embossing powder. With using white EP, you will not see the word of the Dictionary stamp popping through the flower.

Once embossed, place a mask over the flower. I just punched out a circle rather than fussy cutting another stamped blossom.  Ink up the leaf stamp in Wild Wasabi. Stamp around the masked blossom up to three times without reinking in between.  Continue until you are happy with how it looks.

Lift off mask and use a sponge to randomly sponge Wild Wasabi and Pool Party ink in a circular motion.  The more ink you add and the harder you press, the darker it will show up on the card stock.

Punch out an oval on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.  Place the Apothecary Accent die over the oval (make sure the oval is centered) and run through the Big Shot.

Ink the blossom stamp with Pool Party ink, stamp off and then stamp on part of the label. Sponge edges.

Stamp sentiment in Black ink. We found that the grey ink did not show up as well.

Use dimensionals to pop up the label and place over the sentiment.  Add pearls.

Voila! ! All done.

Here is the same card but with White Embossing Powder.

Fall Foliage

Fall Foliage by Andrea G71

Another card for the Stamp Club.....
This card was inspired by THIS card on Splitcoaststampers.  Changed a few things but looks pretty much the same.  The one thing I love about this card is that instead of ribbon, a strip of designer fabric is used instead.  Ingenious!

 Dimensions:

Crumb Cake:  A2 Card Base; Scrap for labe
Pool Party:  5-3/8 x 4-1/8
Soft Suede:  2-3/4 x 4
Very Vanilla: 2-5/8 x 3-7/8; scrap for circle

Instructions:
Punch Label and crumple to distress.  Sponge edges with Soft Suede ink.  Stamp sentiment in Pool Party ink and punch out with circle punch.

Stamp Oak leaves on Pool Party card stock with Pool Party ink.  Sponge edges with Pool Party ink and gently distress with edge distresser.

Distress and sponge edges of Soft Suede card stock.

Main Image:
Stamp "french script" with Soft Suede ink randomly over Very Vanilla card stock.
Randomly stamp "droplets" on same card stock.
Rub card stock with embossing buddy to get rid of static.  Stamp Oak Leaf with Versa Mark ink and sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder. Heat.
Sponge randomly over leaf area with Soft Suede and Pool Party ink.
Distress edges and sponge with Soft Suede ink.

Adhere all pieces together and attach embellishments.

Be Inspired Challenge #10: Take Two

This is actually the first try I made with the BIC last week, but the layout wasn't coming together with the main image panel. So I set it aside and came up with this card shown HERE in a previous post. I came back to it another day and this is the result.

All the techniques I used are the same as in the previous card, so I won't repeat myself.

Ink: VersaMark, Certainly Celery, Cool Caribbean, So Saffron, Mellow Moss

Be Happy with Bordering Blue

Lately it seems like Bordering Blue is one of my favourite colours. I have been using it a lot. I made this Bordering Blue card last week along with the previous card and I used it again today with the Card Sketch Challenge (I will post that card soon).
On this card I used the Emerging Colours Technique. I've used this technique a number of times and always have fun with it. I first stamped the Naturals White card stock with Stitched Background stamp in Bordering Blue. Then with the bold leaf and flower images I stamped over top the Stitched background with VersaMark and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Lastly, I inked up the Brayer with Bordering Blue ink and ran it over the card stock. I kept doing that over and over until the colour was ever over the entire piece. It takes a bunch of times to get it ever. I used a baby wipe (you can use a kleenex too) to carefully wipe the ink off the embossed images so the underlying stitched background can be seen more clearly.

When I was done with the brayering, I noticed that the right hand side looked kind of "blah", so I punched out "be happy" from the Word Window Punch. It fills up that space nicely.

Supplies:

Stamps: Stitched Exotics, So Many Sayings (retired), Stitched BG
Paper: Bordering Blue, Naturals White, Designer Paper (Anna Griffin)
Ink: Bordering Blue, VersaMark
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Brayer, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Word Window Punch
