There are companies out there that are coming out with dies to make banners. Stampin' Up! has the Itty Bitty Banner dies, but I wanted something a lot larger. Often I have used the corner of a square punch to punch out the triangle of the banner. But if the card stock strip is too wide, then the square punch isn't large enough. So there is another way and I'm going to call it the Banner Technique.
Decide how steep you would like to make your banner flags or points. I went about an inch from the bottom of the card stock strip. Use a ruler to find the center of the width of the strip and make a light mark with a pencil. Take your scissors and from one bottom corner of the strip, cut straight to the pencil line. Repeat on other corner. Voila! There is your banner. You can decide how deep or shallow you would like to make the flags/points.
