December Stamp Club Cards

Serene Snowflakes on Vellum with Rich Razzleberry
1. First use your Embossing Buddy to wipe the static off your Vellum card stock. (This makes sure that the embossing powder only sticks to the stamped image.) Next, stamp the snowflakes stamps randomly over the vellum with White Craft Ink (I used the three smaller stamps from the Serene Snowflake set). VersaMark also works well. Pour white embossing powder over the stamped images and heat carefully so the vellum doesn't burn or warp/bend.

2. Use the scalloped edge punch on the Rich Razzleberry card stock. Once you have a scalloped edge, attach the completed Vellum card stock piece to it with brads. Use a 1/16" hand held punch or paper piercer to poke holes through the two pieces. Tape Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon on card (I just used scotch tape to tape the ends of the ribbon at the back of the card).

3a. Use Big Shot to cut snowflake from the Snowflakes #2 Sizzlet Dies in Whisper White. Use Hand Held Punch to punch a hole in middle of snowfake. Add crystal brad or brad of your choice. (This is the "unadorned" snowflake as shown in the photo.)

3b. Use Big Shot to cut snowflake as stated in 3a. Ink up entire snowflake with VersaMark ink and sprinkle with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Heat with heat gun. Be careful not to burn snowflake! Complete snowflake as in 3a. (This is what we did at the Stamp Club.)

4. Use a paper piercer or hand held punch to make a hole through the ribbon and the vellum and Razzleberry card stock. Attach snowflake to all pieces with brad.

5. Stamp "Noel" in Rich Razzleberry ink to bottom of Whisper White card base. Use the stamp-a-ma-jig if you need perfect placement.

6. Complete card by adhering all pieces together.

Dimensions:

Whisper White Card Base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2

Rich Razzleberry: 3 3/4 x 5 1/4

Vellum Card Stock: 3 x 5

Cute and Cuddly Keeps You Warm
1. On "scrap" Naturals White card stock, stamp bear in Taken with Teal ink, cap in More Mustard ink, mug and sentiment in Real red ink and iceberg in Basic Black ink. Cut out using Paper Snips or good cutting scissors for fine details.

2. Punch out sentiment using Modern Label punch and add eyelet using eyelet setter or crop-o-dile. Add white embroidery thread to tag.

3. Use scallop edge punch on Real Red card stock strip.

4. "Texturize" the Naturals White card stock square using the Big Shot and Texturz Plate.

5. Tape the pieces together in the following order: Tape the Old Olive Designer Series Paper on to the Naturals White textured card stock. Tape the thin strip of Taken with Teal card stock to left edge of Old Olive DSP. Tape Real Red scalloped strip UNDERNEATH the Naturals White textured piece so that it sticks over the edge about 1/4". Place a strip of Sticky Tape to left edge of Taken with Teal strip.

6. To ruffle the ribbon, gently pull the two red threads while scrunching the ribbon together. Be careful otherwise you might pull the ribbon too far and the threads will come out leaving a plain white ribbon.

7. To attach the tag to the ribbon, thread Mistletoe scrunched ribbon through the embroidery thread. Now place scrunched ribbon on top of Sticky Tape. Tape ends of scrunched ribbon to back of Naturals White textured square.

8. Tape entire front piece to card base. Add bear and other pieces to the Old Olive DSP. Don't forget to add dimensionals to the bear to pop him up nicely.

Dimensions:

Old Olive Card Base: 4 1/4 x 4 1/4
Naturals White: 4 1/8 x 4 1/8

Old Olive DSP: 3 x 4 1/8

Whew!! I finally got this posted. Sorry it took so long.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I'll see you in January.

Serene Snowflakes on Acetate

I received a special request to post this card. Brenda, this card is for you!

Here are a few details on the card that might not be self explanitory by looking at the photo or the supply list. The photo of the card is at a wierd angle because it was tricky not getting any glare from the window where I was taking the picture.

1. Cut Naturals White card stock to 4 1/4" x 11". Score at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2". Fold card at
5 1/2".

2. Stamp snowflakes with White Stazon ink on 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 acetate (These are also called transparancies and can be found at an office supply store. This would also work with Stampin' Up!'s Snowfall printed window sheets. You just wouldn't need to stamp.)

3. Adhere 4 x 4 Basic Black card stock and 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 Kraft card stock to the top of the White card base - inside the scored square.

4. Place acetate on top of the White card base and punch holes for eyelets with crop-o-dile. Add eyelets.

5. Stamp Christmas sentiment on 1 1/2 x 2 1/4 Naturals White card stock. Sponge daub edges with Sahara Sand ink. Adhere to TOP of acetate.

6. Adhere 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 Basic Black card stock to UNDERSIDE of acetate. (Lay the black card stock on flat surface with adhesive already on it and then lay your acetate over it lined up evenly. Make sure when you are adding the adhesive to the black card stock that it doesn't go to close to the edge otherwise it will show.)

7. Finish off with ribbon.

Supplies:

Stamps: Serene Snowflakes, Many Merry Messages
Paper: Naturals White, Kraft, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black, Sahara Sand, White Stazon
Accessories: White Eyelets, Crop-o-dile, White Organdy Ribbon (retired), Sponge Dauber, Stamp-a-ma-jig, ScorePal (Bone folder and ruler works too)

November Stamp Club Cards

These are the two projects we made for the November Stamp Club....aka "the Cult". Here are the details for both cards:

Delightful Decorations in Red and Teal

1. Use the 1/16" Corner Rounder Punch to round corners of the large piece of Whisper White card stock, Real Red card stock and Holiday Lounge Designer Series Paper. Tape these three pieces together.

2. Tie ribbon around these three pieces in a knot at the side.

3. Ink up "flourish" from Baroque Motifs set in Real Red and stamp on small piece of Whisper White card stock. Tape to small piece of Taken with Teal card stock.

4. Tape on top of card stock with ribbon.

5. Stamp two Delightful Decoration stamps with Taken with Teal ink on scraps of Whisper White card stock. Punch out with Decoration Punch (or cut out by hand).

6. On both decorations, wrap silver cord around top of ornament and making a loop. Tape the ends to the back of the ornament. (This step was actually quite tricky. In the photo I had used retired silver cord whereas at the stamp club we used the silver cord from the current mini catalogue. This cord is more stretchy than the previous kind is actually kind of hard to work with. In the future I will have to modify - and practice! - how to use this cord easily.)

7. On the one decoration image, add a silver brad. On the other add two to three dimensionals. Stick onto card.

Supplies:

Stamps: Delightful Decorations, Baroque Motifs
Ink: Real Red, Taken with Teal
Paper: Taken With Teal, Whisper White, Real Red, Holiday Lounge DSP
Accessories: 1/16" Corner Rounder Punch, Dimensionals, Scotch Tape, Silver Brads, Silver Cord, Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, 1/16" Hand Held Punch, Decoration Punch

Dimensions:

Taken with Teal Card Base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
Whisper White: 5 3/8 x 4 1/8

Real Red: 3 1/8 x 4 1/8
Holiday Lounge DSP: 3 x 4

Taken with Teal: 2 7/8 2 1/8
Whisper White: 2 3/4 x 2

Whisper White Scraps for Decorations

Serene Snowflakes Notepad

The main image uses all four stamps from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set with each snowflake having its own colour of ink or shimmer paint.

1. Stamp the two medium sized snowflakes first using Bordering Blue and Sahara Sand ink on the Kraft card stock.

2. Stamp the small snowflakes in Whisper White on the Kraft card stock.

3. On the large snowflake, use a paint brush to apply Champagne Mist shimmer paint onto the stamp. Apply evenly and not too thickly. A little goes a long way. Stamp on the Kraft card stock. Let dry.

4. Distress one edge of the small piece of Bordering Blue card stock with Distresser. Tape onto the piece of Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper. Tape onto stamped Kraft card stock. Tie on ribbon.

5. Place large piece of Bordering Blue card stock VERTICALLY on Scor-Pal. Score at 3". Flip 180 degrees and score again at 3". Fold to make a "booklet".

6. Tape completed Kraft card stock on to the front "cover" of Bordering Blue booklet.

7. Use Sticky Tape on back of 5 x 2.5 notepad. (I bought 5x8 notepads at Staples. For a small fee they cut them in half.) Tape on inside of booklet.

I found this idea on the Papertrey Ink blog by Nichole Heady. Click HERE to find other great samples using this note pad idea.

Supplies:

Stamps: Serene Snowflakes
Ink: Sahara Sand, Bordering Blue, Whisper White Craft
Paper: Bordering Blue, Kraft, Bella Bleu DSP
Accessories: White Shimmer Paint, Champagne Shimmer Paint, White Taffeta Ribbon, Sponge, Paintbrush, Distresser, 5 x 8 Notepads (cut in half at Staples), Sticky Tape

Dimensions:

Bordering Blue: 5 3/4 x 8 1/4
Kraft: 8 1/8 x 2 5/8
Bordering Blue: 1 5/8 x 2 5/8

October Stamp Club Cards

These are the two cards we made for the October Mystery Hostess Stamp Club. Here are the details for both cards.

Inspired by Nature: Misting with Watercolor Crayons Technique

1. Using watercolor crayons (Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard and Old Olive) colour two flowers of the Inspired by Nature stamp set. Colour directly on the rubber.

2. Hold your stamp away from you and spray it with a water spritzer bottle with one or two sprays 6-8 inches away.

3. Stamp your image onto watercolor paper.

4. Once image is dry, use a 1" Circle Punch to punch a half circle in the watercolor paper.

5. Tape onto Chocolate Chip card stock. Punch the largest hole from Crop-o-dile in the centre of your "circle". Place Jumbo Eyelet through hole and use Crop-o-dile to press and complete eyelet.
6. Adhere Designer Series Paper to Chocolate Chip card stock. Add dimensionals to back of flower image, place ribbon through eyelet and adhere to DSP. Tie ribbon.

7. Stamp sentiment (Happy Thanksgiving) with Chocolate Chip ink on Creamy Caramel card stock.

8. Adhere and finish card.

Supplies:

Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Autumn Splendor DSP (Mini Catalogue), Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Pewter Jumbo Eyelet, Crop-o-dile, 1"Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Earth Elements Watercolor Crayons, Spritzer Bottle, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Dimensions:

Vanilla Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
Chocolate Chip - 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
Creamy Caramel - 5 1/4 x 4

Chocolate Chip - 4 1/2 x 3 5/8
Autumn Mead. DSP - 4 3/8 x 3 1/2

Chocolate Chip - 4 1/8 x 2 3/8
Watercolor Paper - 4 x 2 1/4

Autumn Splendor: Watercoloring with Aquapainter

1. Stamp leaves onto watercolor paper using Black Stazon ink.

2. Squeeze inkpads so ink will pool on inside lid of pad.

3. Use an aquapainter to pick up ink from lid and colour in leaves.

4. Stamp sentiment on watercolor paper with Black Stazon. Use a stamp-a-ma-jig if you like perfect placement.

5. Adhere all pieces of cardstock together (except card base), tie on ribbon and complete card.

Note on watercoloring leaves: For every leaf, I used at least three colours of ink. I began colouring all leaves with the lightest colour of ink. For the Five-Leaf Leaf (??huh??) I coloured the entire leaf with More Mustard and then used Creamy Caramel on the outer edges and blended inwards. On the Maple Leaf I used More Mustard and then blended in Really Rust over most of the leaf. I used Close to Cocoa on all the leaf stemas. Taken with Teal ink was used to blend lightly around the outside edges of the leaves. If an area was too dark, I pressed on my aquapainter so that it would add more water and help lighten and spread out the colour.

Supplies:

Stamps: Autumn Splendor, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal, Watercolor Paper, Autumn Meadows DSP

Ink: Black Stazon, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Really Rust, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Tempting Torquoise 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

Dimensions:

Chocolate Chip Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
Taken With Teal - 4 3/8 x 3 1/8
Watercolor Paper - 4 1/4 x 3
Autumn Mead. DSP - 3 x 1

All cards are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Inspired by Nature - Reverse Masking

This is one of the cards was made at a number of Stampin' Up! workshops during February and March. I love this card and cased it off someone from Splitcoaststampers but cannot remember who it was.

Details about the card: I made a template for the Reverse Masking Technique as well as for the sponging and paper piercing. That way we created an assembly line and making the square grass image went a lot quicker. Also, the flower was inked up by using markers only.

Dimensions in inches:

Naturals White card base - 4 1/4 x 11
Chocolate Chip - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Bravo Burgundy - 4 x 5 1/4
Naturals White - 3 3/4 x 5

Template - 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 (I used my Scorpal to score a 3/4" line down each side, then used my hobby blade and ruler to cut the square out.)

Supplies:

Stamps: Inspired by Nature, It's Your Birthday (retired)
Paper: Naturals White, Chocolate Chip, Bravo Burgundy
Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red Marker, Bravo Burgundy Marker, Old Olive Marker

Accessories: Square Masking Template (homemade from cardboard), Sponge, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon, Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware (retired)

Sagely Crazy for Cupcakes

This morning I attended my Thursday morning MOMS group and had two cups of coffee and then topped it off with a cup of black tea (along with a wide variety of snacks, of course). Let's just say I have a bit of a buzz going on. LOL So on that note, here is my card:

Just a note about the cupcake: I actually stamped it three times. Once on patterned paper (cut out cupcake minus the candle), then on white card stock (cut out only the top part and candle) and finally again on the sagey coloured card stock (cut out only the candle stick). I cut a small slit in the "white" cupcake, glued it on top of the patterned cupcake and then stuck the sage candle stick slighly in the slot of the white cupcake. Does that make sense? I hope so..... Hmmm. I am thinking how I could have explained that differently. Must be the coffee.....

By the way, I used tweezers to handle the beads and get them on top of the dabs of glue. Very tricky. :)

Supplies:

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Paper: Designer Paper & Card Stock (SEI 6x6 paper pack), Basic Grey, Whisper White
Ink: Black Stazon, So Saffron (candle flame)
Accessories: Celery Beads, Tombo Liquid Glue, Paper Snips, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Dimensionals, Grey Ribbon (Michael's), Blender Pen, Tweezers

One Last Yeehaw!!

Okay. This is the last cowgirl card that I have. But hey, who knows, I might decide to make a few more. I just LOVE the stickfigures. Maybe because that is how I draw and can relate. LOL
This is was a very quick and simple card to make. I did add a border to the inside of the card to jazz it up a bit. Sometimes it is nice to have a simple card! The cowgirl stands out and says, "Hey dude, look at me." :)

Supplies:

Stamps: Cowgirl (clearly wordsworth)
Paper: Basic Black, Designer Paper (Basic Grey), Embossed Card Base (DCWV)
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Scalloped Edge Punch, Paper Snips, Tombo Liquid Glue

More Cowgirls

As you can see, I am still on this cowgirl kick. I have one more to post. :)

A couple details about the card: 1) I stamped one of the Itty Bitty Background stamps (one that has more uniform polka dots) on Not Quite Navy card stock, then stamped the cowgirl on top of polka dots and cut out the dress. Then I glued them on the girls of the main image. 2) Also, I masked the middle girl so that there wouldn't be arms and legs sticking out everywhere. Get it?? Stick people sticking out. Yeah I know. It's a stretch. LOL

Supplies:

Stamps: Cowgirl (clearly wordsworth), best wishes (Studio G), Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Naturals White, Designer Paper (Basic Grey)
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Black Stazon
Accessories: Navy Organdy Ribbon, Blender Pen

Clearly Cowgirl

My cousin asked me to make her some cards. She is a cowgirl at heart so I knew immediately which stamp I wanted to use.... the cowgirl from my Clearly Wordsworth set. Love that girl!

Inspired by Nature with Earth Elements

I made this card for my mom's birthday which was at the end of December. It sort of has an Autumn look to it doesn't it? I LOVE this set....probably because cone flowers are one of my favourite flowers. Love anything in the "daisy family"!! Ah, summer seems so far of....it is -28 Celsius right now.
Just a note: I don't have markers in every colour so I used my blender pens to colour on the stamp. (To do this, squeeze your ink pad while closed; open it up and there will be ink on the lid; now use your blender pen to pick up the ink and "wha lah" instant marker). Just remember that the blender pens will give a more washed out look than markers will.

Supplies:

Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Ruby Red
Ink: Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Accessories: Blender Pen, Crop-o-dile, Pewter Jumbo Brads, Scalloped Edge Punch
