Wish Big

Wish Big by Andrea G71

 October Stamp Club Card

On this card, we used the new Core'dinations card stock in Early Espresso.  The card stock was run through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and then sanded slightly with the Sanding Block.

If you want to make this a "male" card, all you would need to do is wrap the ribbon around the main image rather than tying it into a knot.  If you want to be really picky.  Sometimes men need a little bit of a bow, don't you think?  :)

Supplies:

Stamps: Word Play
Paper:  Early Espresso Core’dinations, Comfort Café DSP, Naturals Ivory, Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake
Ink:  Midnight Muse, Pool Party
Accessories:  Midnight Muse Ribbon, Sand Block, Dimensionals, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, BigShot

Coiled Ribbon Flower

Rolled Ribbon Flower by Andrea G71

Coiled Ribbon Flower

This card uses the same technique in THIS post but using ribbon instead.  It has a much cleaner look to it.  Not as "shabby chic".

Here is a TUTORIAL on how to make the coiled flower.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Petite Pairs
Paper:  Comfort Café DSP, Naturals Ivory, Pool Party, Soft Suede
Ink:  Soft Suede
Accessories:  Jumbo Sticky Rounds, Midnight Muse Ribbon, Dotted Scallop Border Punch, Leaf Die

Coiled Fabric Flower

Rolled Fabric Flower by Andrea G71

October Stamp Club Card

Here is the first card we made at our October Stamp Club workshop.  You can find the jumbo mini rounds we used to adhere the fabric flower in the Holiday Catalogue.  Love these things so much I will order a couple of packages the next time.  :)

We tried out a new technique on this card:  Coiled Fabric Flower

Tip:  Tuck the end of the fabric onto the underside of the sticky round.  You will have to peel away the orange plastic a bit so that you can place it on the sticky part.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Petite Pairs
Paper:  Naturals Ivory, More Mustard, Spice Cake DSP, Early Espresso, Pool Party
Ink:  Early Espresso
Accessories:  Jumbo Sticky Rounds, Spice Cake fabric (retired), Leaf die, Dotted Scallop Border Punch

Postage Due in Pool Party

Postage Due in Pool Party by Andrea G71

There are companies out there that are coming out with dies to make banners.  Stampin' Up!  has the Itty Bitty Banner dies, but I wanted something a lot larger.  Often I have used the corner of a square punch to punch out the triangle of the banner.  But if the card stock strip is too wide, then the square punch isn't large enough.  So there is another way and I'm going to call it the Banner Technique.

Decide how steep you would like to make your banner flags or points.  I went about an inch from the bottom of the card stock strip.  Use a ruler to find the center of the width of the strip and make a light mark with a pencil.  Take your scissors and from one bottom corner of the strip, cut straight to the pencil line.  Repeat on other corner.  Voila!  There is your banner.  You can decide how deep or shallow you would like to make the flags/points.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Postage Due, Petite Pairs
Paper:  Comfort Cafe DSP, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: Whisper White, Pool Party
Accessories:  Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Dimensionals, Postage Stamp Punch, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Ruler, Scissors

A Fitting Moustache

A Fitting Moustache by Andrea G71

Stamp Club Card No. 3

I think this set works great on square cards.  I saw THIS card on Splitcoaststampers and thought I would change it to a square card.

Supplies:

Stamps:  A Fitting Occasion
Paper:  International Bazaar DSP, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point
Accessories:  chocolate Chip 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon, Dimesionals, 1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Chevron Embossing Folder, Big Shot

4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card

We  also made an envelope to fit the card.  We followed this TUTORIAL on the Tailored Envelope from Splitcoaststampers.

It was a tight fit to slide the card into the envelope.  Next time I would make my card measurements slightly less than a 4-1/4" square.

A Comforting Fitting Occasion

A Comforting Fitting Occasion by Andrea G71

Stamp Club Card No. 2

This isn't a set that I would normally purchase.  There are 23 stamps in this set and they are small.  I often have trouble figuring out what to do with small stamps.  But I purchased it anyway so that I could challenge myself to figure out how to use this type of set in a number of ways.

One thing I would change on the card is to pop up the two postage stamp punch images with dimensionals.  I think the three images would be better positioned on the card if they were all popped up.

Did you know that one of the colours in the Comfort Cafe DSP is Midnight Muse?  I do not have that card stock yet, so I used Not Quite Navy instead.  I found that it worked quite well with this pattern.

TIP: I used the new Chevron Folder on this card.  The "chevron stripes" actually go vertically on the folder.  I wanted them to be horizontal on my card so I placed the Vanilla card stock partially in the the folder to have them emboss the way I wanted.

Supplies:

Stamps:  A Fitting Occasion
Paper:  Comfort Cafe, Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede
Ink:  Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede
Accessories:  1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Curly Label Punch, Postage Stamp Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals. Chevron Embossing Folder, Big Shot

Postage Due

Postage Due by Andrea G71

September Stamp Club Card

Last Friday, we had our first stamp club workshop.  After having the summer off, it was great to get together to stamp, visit and eat some great food.  The group was small so we had time to make three cards plus an envelope.  Stay posted as there are more cards to come.

This card is fairly straight forward to make by looking at the supply list.  THIS is the card that inspired mine.  Here is one I made that looks similar:
I embossed it in white.  Hope you can see it as it was very hard to capture with the camera.

The Postage Due set was stamped in Whisper White and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point ink was sponged over the embossed image in a circular motion.  Use a tissue to remove the ink from the embossed image.  It helps make the white stand out a little more.

A couple of changes to supplies at our stamp club workshop:  We used Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and Floral District DSP rather the ribbon and dsp listed below.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Postage Due
Paper:  Whisper White, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, International Bazaar DSP
Ink:  Whisper White, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, Sponge, Postage Stamp Punch, Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Edgelit Die, Big Shot, Dimensionals
